The Black Book is on a pedestal in this room. This room has plenty of loot so explore it well before heading up the stairway. This gate should be open after having defeated Zahkriisos. One of the words for the Dragon Aspect Shout can be learned here. Go to the back of the room to the Word Wall. Search Zahkriisos for some gold and his mask. On reaching the chest in the middle, a Dragon Priest named Zahkriisos appears.
The room behind the gate open up to a large pool of water. Activate the lever on the left to open the gate. Don't forget to do the doorway itself at the end. It doesn't need to be exactly on the lines. Strafe left or right to do a horizontal power swing or stand still to do a vertical power string. Stand around the steps and do power attacks with the Bloodskal Blade in the same line (horizontal/vertical) as the lines around the doorway. Then it's time to go back to the door and open it somehow. First follow the river to a chest for some loot.
Now to find a way out of Bloodskal Barrow. The blade has a magical attack that shoots outward with a power attack. Search him to find (and read) his journal, and loot the Bloodskal Blade. The skeleton of Gratian Caerillus lies by the steps before the door. Jump down the various levels to be able to get to the door on the other side of the room. Behind the door is a wooden chest ( adept level) with some loot. Continue up the stairs to the wooden door. All three activate poisoned arrows from either side of the doorway you just passed through. Beware the trap in the shadows just off the walkway, as well as two more traps to avoid whilst heading on towards the stairs. Search the room, including an expert level chest. This room can be re-visited after completing the quest "A new source of Stahlrim" to mine Stahlrim. The poison on their arrows can seriously damage health. There are a lot of Draugr (all types) in this section. Go through the tunnel, and open the gate on the left using the Raven Rock Mine Key. Cut these away using a weapon, in the same way that you would cut through a spiderweb. Go over to a some boards covering a hole in the wall. Once at the bottom of the mine, there is what seems to be a dead end. Defeat quite a few Frostbite Spiders and Skeevers along the way. Read the letter.Īfter getting the quest from Crescius, head down the stairs behind him into the mine proper. He also gives Gratian's letter and the Raven Rock Mine Key. Speak to Aphia first, and then to Crescius. Inside are two characters having a heated discussion in the first room of the mine, Crescius Caerillius and his wife Aphia Velothi. This quest takes place inside Raven Rock Mine.
